Creating a contact surface from an open mesh

  1. How do I create a surface contact from an open mesh to obtain the output volume that is similar to the shape of the mesh being used?
  2. What is the correct surface type to use?

you can create either an Erosion or Deposit surface from the mesh within a geological model. what geological contact type does the open mesh represent?

These are meshes of veins/mineralized zones. They come as open or partially closed segment.

I had no issue modelling the closed meshes as intrusive surfaces. But the open ones are producing strange surfaces. see images attached

It's a little difficult to see what's happening in your pictures, but if you have separate objects representing vein footwall and hangingwall surfaces it would be possible to use them as top/bottom contacts of a 'stratigraphic' unit. What is your objective in creating leapfrog volumes from these shapes? Are you trying to make new Leapfrog model objects?
