Variograms for Hydraulic Conductivity in Leapfrog

Hello colleagues,

I wondered if there are someone here with experience doing variograms in Leapfrog to analyse spatial distribution of hydraulic conductivity - as I am dealing with a very heterogeneous and fractured site.

I am following the information from Leapfrog documentation as following:

Variography and Estimators

However, I am finding some difficulties for this analysis of hydraulic conductivity and I am having to modify the "template" shown for that.

If anyone with some experience doing this kind of analysis can share his/her thoughts and experiences, they are very welcomed.

Many thanks and kind regards,

RG

    Hi Roman,

I think you will need to be a bit more specific regarding what problems you are having. If the conductivity really is extremely heterogeneous (very high variance) then you will struggle to produce a variogram no matter what you do. What are the underlying statistics like (look at the coefficient of variation cv in particular)? Have you domained the data at all (eg by lithology) into volumes with broadly similar properties? If this is from drilling, have you tried compositing to reduce the variance?
