IFC BIM Model import into LeapfrogWorks - what is the timeline?

Large infrastructure projects in Switzerland are now BIM-ready. As a geologist working on such projects, I feel that LeapfrogWorks loses connection to this development, as it is not possible to import IFC files into LeapfrogWorks. In order to follow these projects I have to convert IFC-files from BIM-platforms to DWG in order to analyze and process the data in Leapfrog.

I would highly appreciate that IFC-import would become possible as soon as possible in LeapfrogWorks.

Thanks for posting! It sounds like you're working on some really exciting infrastructure projects in Switzerland.
To echo your point, Leapfrog Works can export to IFC, but it cannot support direct imports yet, and there is no official timeline on the roadmap for it right now.

Out product team is definitely aware of the need, though! I can link your post to our internal feature request team, because feedback like yours is exactly how the team decides what to build next.

For now, you're already using the best workaround by converting through .ifc files to CAD formats (like .dwg, .dxf, or .dgn) to bring into your Designs or Meshes folders.

    Thanks for your support!

IFC will be used more and more in infrastructure projects in Europe - and also geological models will be interchanged using IFC. It would be a pity if Seequent would not implement an import option for IFC.
