Welcome to the Seequent community!

To ensure you don't have a rocky time while you're here, here are some pillars to keep you grounded:

Our community is a place for mining, civil engineering, geothermal, energy, environmental, and other industry professionals to connect, exchange knowledge, and find solutions for their projects.

Whether you're here to ask a question, troubleshoot a problem, share your expertise, or learn from others, these guidelines will help keep the community useful, welcoming, and professional for everyone.

Be respectful & inclusive

This community is an inclusive space and as such, discriminatory behavior against any groups or individuals will not be tolerated. Here is a non-exhaustive list of content that is not allowed: hateful or discriminatory content, NSFW, trolling, defamation, harassment, bullying, excessive profanity, offensive or deceptive information, illegal content, or threatening comments.

Any content that is seen as such may be removed, and the individuals responsible may receive a warning or be banned from the community depending on the severity or frequency of the behavior. Please act in a way that promotes a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for everyone.

Be kind, patient & collaborative

As mentioned above, this is an inclusive space. We highly encourage kindness, patience, empathy, and collaboration when engaging with other members.

Everyone comes to the community with different levels of experience, and not every question or problem will have an obvious answer. Please be respectful when offering feedback, disagreeing with others, or helping someone troubleshoot an issue. It's okay to disagree. Keep discussions constructive and focus on the topic or idea rather than the person.

Help us keep the community useful

Please keep posts and discussions relevant to the topic and the community. Refrain from spam, duplicate posts, or posting in unrelated categories.

When creating a post, please make sure you are using the most appropriate product category. For example, asking about image management in the wrong product category means you might be digging in the wrong place (buh dum tss 🥁).

When using community forums, please also take a moment to review any posting guidelines, pinned posts, or other information provided in that section before creating or responding to a discussion.

Search before asking

Before creating a new question, search through the community to see if someone has already asked about the same or a similar issue. More often than not, someone else has experienced something similar and may already have found a solution.

If you can't find what you're looking for, go ahead and create a new inquiry in the appropriate product category.

Give us as much detail as you can

When asking for help, please include as much relevant information as possible. In particular, it is helpful to explain:

  • What you encountered
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • The steps you've already taken to try to resolve the issue
  • Any error codes

Screenshots, files, workflows, and other examples can also help others understand the issue and provide a better answer. The more detail you provide, the easier it is for others to help. Transparency helps everyone get to a solution faster!

Give credit & close the loop

Someone helped you solve your problem? Let them know! A quick thank-you goes a long way and helps recognize the people who take the time to share their knowledge and expertise.

And once you've found a solution, mark the helpful response as Answered. This lets others know that the question has been resolved and makes it easier for someone with the same issue to find the solution in the future.

Closing the loop helps turn individual questions into useful resources for the whole community.

Protect your personal & sensitive information

For your own safety and in accordance with internet etiquette, please refrain from posting personal information in our public community that you would not be comfortable distributing elsewhere.

When looking for assistance, please ensure you obscure any sensitive data (e.g., credentials, personal identification, confidential business information, or proprietary data) when creating posts or sharing media.

Please report security concerns

Please use Seequent's designated security reporting process outlined here to make these types of reports so they can be handled by the appropriate team.

Moderation & enforcement

Any content (including text, images, GIFs, videos, or other media) that violates our guidelines may be removed.

The Seequent community team reserves the right to remove content, issue warnings, restrict participation, or suspend or ban members when necessary. Repeated or particularly serious violations may result in removal from the community without further warning.

When in doubt, reach out

When encountering a situation that you are unsure of how to handle, please contact a member of the Seequent community team. If you come across content or behavior that you believe violates these guidelines, please report it rather than engaging in or escalating a hostile interaction.
