Member Spotlight: Meet Yerka

This month, we're excited to introduce @YerkaSiglic, Regional Geosciences Manager for Latin America at Glencore.

Yerka leads the geosciences strategy for copper operations and projects across the region, bringing together geology, geotechnics, hydrogeology, and mineral resources to support strategic decision-making. Her work is centered on collaboration across disciplines to solve complex challenges and build confidence in geological models.

What Seequent products do you use the most?
"Our team uses several tools across the Seequent ecosystem. Leapfrog Geo is our primary platform for 3D geological modelling. We also use Central for model traceability, auditing, and version control, allowing us to collaborate and review information remotely. In addition, we use Edge, Works, Imago, and IoGas Connector to integrate, visualize, and manage geoscience data throughout our projects."

What's one lesson you've learned that could help others?
"I believe the best results come from building geological models through an iterative and collaborative process. Bringing different disciplines together early helps create more robust models and provides greater confidence for decision-making."

What inspired you to pursue geosciences?
"I've always been naturally curious and enjoyed asking questions about how things work. When I discovered geology, I realized it was a profession where I could continuously explore, learn, and at the same time make a meaningful impact on projects and the people involved."

Something people may not know about you
When she's not working, you'll often find Yerka on the ski slopes.

"I love skiing during the winter. Every run is both a challenge and an opportunity to remind myself that courage helps you move forward, while fear keeps you focused and aware of the risks. It's a lesson I also apply in my professional life."
