Problems with water flux around frozen body (seep/w and temp/w coupled analysis)

Hello, I am modeling the formation of a frozen body around a freezing pipe with flowing groundwater. When defining the materials I selected the "reduce flux in frozen soil". Looking at my results I still have water flowing through the frozen body. How can I make sure that the frozen body is impermeable?

See also attached images (I modelled the section of the freezing pipe in plan view, temperature labels, blue line is the -2° front and arrows are the water flux)

Thank you in advance!

  • GeoStudio uses Clapeyron's equation to compute the pore-water pressure in the frozen/freezing soil and then uses the pore-water pressure to determine the hydraulic conductivity (using the hydraulic conductivity function). The hydraulic conductivity function cannot be a constant, otherwise it returns the same value of hydraulic conductivity regardless of temperature. The issue can be resolved by estimating the volumetric water content function and then using the function to estimate the hydraulic conductivity function.
