Discuss the major similarities and differences in features between AGS Workbench and Res2DInv/3DInv

It seems that both AGS Workbench and Res2DInv/3DInv can process and invert resistivity and IP data. Are there any major similarities and differences in features between AGS Workbench and Res2DInv/3DInv?

They use different inversion codes where the Workbench ERT extension is 1D/2D inversion with focus on full IP decay inversion (Cole-Cole inversion and variants of it). Workbench also includes a GIS interface and other tools for visualization.

The processing tools for ERT in Workbench is very similar to the processing tools in the new Res2DInv although it supports processing of full IP decay data.

Res2DInv/Res3DInv inverts in 2D/3D with faster inversion and good processing tools for Res2DInv.
