Filter on Geology when editing an interval selection

I've created a new interval selection field based on a filter applied to the geology table. When editing this interval selection I'd like to sort the new codes chronologically or apply a filter to sort out unwanted fields in the interval selection while I'm selecting and creating new interval codes. See screenshot attached.  Please advise.
