Target for ArcGIS Scripting Capability

Is there a method available to use Python within ArcGIS to script or automate some of the mapping tools? I'd really like to be able to script the section tool to be able to save sections in separate map files (MXDs) rather than having to turn on and off dozens of layers. Anyone else have the same requirements?

Hi Govi,

Unfortunately there is no way to use Python with the Target for ArcGIS tools currently, but there are scripting options in Oasis montaj and Target (the stand alone version).

This is also an area we plan to investigate further for the new extension based on ArcGIS Pro.
