Geothermal’s potential to be a pivotal player in the energy transition
FAST FACTS: Geothermal energy comes from heat in the earth’s core and has been used by people for cooking and heating for thousands of years The first geothermal energy plant opened in Italy in 1904. It produced enough steam to power five light bulbs. Geothermal energy is weather-independent unlike wind, hydro and solar,…

Numeric Model - RBF interpolant trouble
Hey there, I'm trying to make an extrapolation from fracture data in geothermal wells. The problem is when I load my point data this is upside down in the Z axis in the drillhole data and the numeric model isn't consistent. I'd thank some help or if you can sugest a different approach for this problem Note: I'm a beginner…

Is ”Screens table” needed for defining boundary conditions in TOUGH model?
hello I'm studying how to use Leapfrog as a preprocessor for TOUGH3. I don't know how to enter parameters such as steam production from the well, reinjection to the well, inflow and outflow of heat or hot water. According to Leapfrog's manual, we can define such parameters by adding a Generator. Also, the manual says: If…

Why my surfaces are not consistent with the volumes I create with them?
I am building a geological model from Drillhole data, the geothermal wells have its lithology defined but the volumes are not consistent with any surface. I don't know if I'm missing something or I'm doin it wrong. I'll thank any help.

Custom topography extents
I have a Leapfrog Geothermal model with the standard XYZ extents that make a nice square, but am I able to customize the boundaries? My advisor wants it to look like this (picture attached) and suggested I "cut it to this shape" but I'm not sure how to make the boundaries diagonal. The picture is looking straight down and…

Importing cross sections into LF geothermal
I am trying to upload cross section PNG images into my model, but I keep getting this error. My cross section runs E-W which inherently means that its on the same North line, but leapfrog won't process my image if there are any duplicate XYZ coordinates. How do I import an E-W cross section into my landscape?

Naming data points
I have geothermal spring locations (X and Y) imported into my model as 2D points from a CSV file. Along with the locations of each spring, there is a number associated with it (Spring 1,2,3 etc...) How can I get those labels to display next to my points? All I have is 250 points with no label so I have no idea which spring…
