SEG MME

Welcome!

SEGMME is a community group (and formerly mailing list) to facilitate communication of the Mining and Mineral Exploration Committee for the SEG (Society of Exploration Geophysicists).

While SEG membership is very well defined, membership for the SEGMME mailing list is relatively casual and by participating on the mailing list, you are effectively part of the MME Committee and its community. This community is used for formal activities, such as coordinating MME Committee meetings and finding volunteers for the mining- and mineral exploration-related technical sessions and workshops at the SEG Annual Meetings (called IMAGE), but primarily it is a place for discussion about geophysics in mineral exploration. It is an excellent place to ask questions and provide comments on anything related to this topic. Given the above purpose, we try to avoid overtly commercial messages but providing general information about what service or technology might be suitable for a particular problem is acceptable. It is of the utmost importance that everyone conducts themselves in a respectful manner and failure to do so will result in removal from the mailing list. The SEG has guidelines (Society of Exploration Geophysicists > About SEG > Governance > Policies and Procedures) which govern the use of SEG activities including the mailing list. If there are any questions or concerns about discussions on SEGMME, please raise the issue with the MME Committee executive (listed as admins in this group).
